My love letter to Brad Perry

Brad and I went to Oxford, MS weekend before last to celebrate our anniversary. Since then I have wanted to tell him how thankful I am for his love. But with two kids and our crazy life, I don't seem to find the time to share it with him face to face. My sweet husband and I have been married seven years. Seven years... it seems like we cant possibly have been married more than three or four years. But at the same time, I cant remember my life without him. Ten years of dating, seven years of marriage, so many memories, two kids and one crazy dog. Where has the time gone and will the next seven go even faster? I googled "Love" when I was thinking about writing this and this is what I found: Love is both an action and a feeling. That is so true. Something I never sat down and contemplated. I love my husband, my children, my mom, my family and friends. But its in every action we make towards those we love, as well. Brad Perry is a great example of LOVE by this definition. I included the passage from 1 Corinthians about love below... As I was typing it I realized that he embodies all of the instructions from Paul to the Corinthians about what LOVE should be and is. I on the other hand fall short on so many levels when reading this passage. He is the patient one, the softer spoken one, the listener. So as we begin our next seven years together (and many, many past that) I want to recognize my short comings and strive to be a better example of that LOVE that Paul so passionately wrote about. Actions reinforce the words we say. Thank you to my precious husband for your love and commitment to our family and to me. You are an ever loving, steadfast, humble, gentle, smart, partner in this wonderful life we share together and not a day goes by when I don't truly understand how much I'm blessed to have you in my life. I love you Brad Perry. Happy Anniversary!

Love is patient, love is kind,

it does not envy, it does not boast,

it is not proud, it is not rude, it is not self-seeking,

it is not easily angered,

it keeps no record of wrongs.

Love does not rejoice in evil,

but rejoices with the truth.

Love always protects, always trusts,

always hopes, always perseveres.

Love bears all things, believes all things,

hopes all things, endures all things.

Love never ends.

Love never fails.

Spring makes us happy!

We've been getting out and enjoying the weather the last week. We had a picnic at the park and Woody got to go down the slide with Barnes about a million times. Anna Kate had her first real food~ rice cereal. She ate it up and wanted more! In other big news, we have a contract on our house and hope all goes smoothly with closing on it June 30! I thank the good Lord above for sending us buyers that don't need to move into our house until our new house will be done. No moving twice!

My Point of View

For the first time since we started our project....this new, beautiful house started to seem like its really our HOUSE. All in one week, they put a roof on it, put the front doors in and put in the stairs so that I could actually go up and see the rooms upstairs. Looking at the view from Barnes and Anna Kate's rooms it started to seem like a home. The thought of this house being where they are going to grow up and call home for the next few decades makes me very happy. All the memories to come: birthdays, Christmases, homework, playing games and just being a family. It was overwhelming as I stood upstairs and looked out Barnes' window. I am so blessed in so many ways. 90 days and we will be moving in!
ready to roof roof looks great - honestly, I spent a day and a half agonizing about ridge caps. I didn't even know what ridge caps were until a month ago...It was worth it!

Enjoying the weather

We had a bit of warm weather last week. Its cold outside now so I'm reminiscing and hoping for warmer weather soon so we can get OUT and play.
we had a little diaper accident so she ended up just in a diaper - but super cute! We were taking a stroll around the neighborhood and he asked to get out of the stroller so he could go play in the willow trees. He said it looked like a forest!

Big happenings

All of a sudden my baby is growing up. In the last three weeks we have:

1. Had an explosion of language and words due to our ear tubes and being able to hear better!

2. Ditched the pacifier

3. Successfully started potty training

But as I watch that sweet face sleeping on the monitor screen tonite, hes still my little baby boy.
